The Area

The Cottage's street (rue des Saules exit) brings you directly to the heart of Montmartre as you pass by Lapin Agile Bar-Cabaret, a subject of one of Picasso's most famous paintings, and the unique Montmartre vineyard. At the street's end, you will be by Sacre Coeur Basilica, the crowning glory at the top of Montmartre. It provides the most spectacular view in all of Paris.

The Villa des Platanes area seems to have movies that revolve around it. One exit brings you directly to rue Lepic, made famous by "Amelie Poulain" (Amelie from Montmartre). The other takes you to boulevard de Clichy, home to the "Moulin Rouge". In fact, a famous Parisian director lives on the property as well.
